SSS X OW Workshop
Yayasan Cheshire Indonesia, otherwise known as Wisma Cheshire, is a non-government organization that was established by Leonard Cheshire in 1974. They help people with physical disabilities to be independent through vocational training, such as woodwork, handicraft/sewing, technology and learning foreign languages such as English. In addition, they help provide shelter and health services such as physiotherapy for the disabled residents.
Together with Street Smart Society, a youth-led nonprofit aiming to close the wealth gap by teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship to low-income communities, ONEWORLD hosted a ‘Financial Literacy’ workshop with Yayasan Cheshire, covering a huge array of topics in the span of 5 weeks! This includes tips on making an effective resume, what to prepare for in a job interview, keeping track of your cash inflows and outflows, an introduction to utilizing the online platform for your respective businesses, and more!
ONEWORLD learnt a lot from both Yayasan Cheshire and Street Smart Society - especially skills that will definitely be carried towards the future. We look forward to hosting more workshops with Street Smart Society and Yayasan Cheshire!
